Gregg Allman in 1998, the last visit to Japan in his lifetime. The first public original recording that permanently preserves the memorial site is a new excavation.
What is recorded in this work is "April 25, 1998: Tokyo performance". It is the excellent audience recording. Greg, who made his first visit to Japan in 1977, visited Japan four times, including the reunion THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND. In 1998, the last and most performances were scheduled to be updated. First, let's look back on the schedule at that time.
・ April 17 + 18: Fukuoka (2 performances)
・ April 20-25: Tokyo (6 performances) ← ★ Coco ★
・ April 27-May 2: Osaka (6 performances)
Above, all 14 performances. He did not move the venue in the three cities and appeared in famous jazz clubs every day, and in Tokyo it was six nights in a row. It was the last day that this work was introduced. After that, there was Osaka, but in Tokyo it was a genuine last stage. The sound of this work, which was recorded at a very memorial site, is also excellent. There is a solid sense of space in terms of timbre, but there is only a small club and it does not give a sense of distance. Rather, the feeling of air accurately depicts the feeling of a closed room in the field, creating the feeling that "Greg is in front of you."
