Speaking of Mike Millard, ZEP's audience recording, which was synonymous with Dylan's recording in 1978, surprised fans all over the world, but his recording of Dylan LA performance was in June. It is held continuously from the 1st to the 7th. Under such circumstances, his recordings have been excavated on the first day and the third day, but finally the best audience recording that captured the pattern of the last day was also excavated. With Jimmy Page of ZEP, whom Millard admired, came to Japan and was pleased with the Dylan title, it is inevitable that the appearance of Millard's further Dylan sound source seems to be a strange connection.
Although it was the sound source on the last day of LA, the sound quality was really wonderful this time as well. Without having to bring up words such as "clearness" and "on-sound image," Millard's divine work, which left the recordings so far in 1978, has no choice but to lose words. The tendency of the sound image is closer to the first day than the 3rd that appeared earlier, and there is no doubt that you will be overwhelmed by the sound pressure from there to tremendous. As expected, Millard, I have already surrendered to this perfect recording.
However ... Is it a difference in feelings compared to ZEP and Jesus? The complete recording did not come true this time either (bitter smile). The first day was only the first half, and the third day was missing the first few songs, but this time it was a pity that it was recorded from the middle of "Mr. Tambourine Man". Since the recording time gradually increased from the first day to the third day, is this final day finally complete recording? I expected, but the fact that I couldn't record the early part of the live again is still a minus point even in the mirrored recording.
Therefore, by supplementing the unrecorded part with another sound source, the same complete recording as on the 3rd was realized! What's more surprising this time is that the other sound source is also a recording with very good sound quality. It is a superb audience recording that boasts a clearness different from Millard, and as a result of supplementing with this sound source, it became a wonderful recording state that you can enjoy the whole story with the best sound quality from the opening to the end. After all, the different sound sources have excellent sound quality, so you may not understand the editing when you listen to "Mr. Tambourine Man", which is a combination of the two sound sources. Then, complete recording with the best sound quality was realized!
And it seems to be the last day of the performance that was held for 7 consecutive days, the repertoire has been increased and the latter half has gorgeous content. First of all, a reggae version of "Don't Think Twice, It's All Right" that was not played on the 3rd. It's popular as one of the boldest live repertoires of the 1978 tour, but it's going to be a big attraction to hear the reggae version with the spectacular quality of Millard. Furthermore, a big service that "Oh Sister" and "Simple Twist Of Fate", which were played as regular at the time of the performance in Japan but were not played after entering LA, are also played. The gorgeous set list unique to such a final day also gives off a big charm different from the other two days that have been released so far. Such a mirrored amazing Dylan superb sound source is released with complete recording this time, of course, it is a limited press CD, I recommend it with confidence not only to Dylan fans but also to rare sound source fans!
