This is the first sound source for which a new audience master tape has been excavated.
The time is February 12, 1994, and the place is Namba Osaka Castle Hall, which is the first tour to Japan since it was named Bob Dylan's Never Ending Tour. This Osaka performance had a reasonably good audience sound source from the beginning. And this time, the audience newly recorded in another position
The master tape was excavated. These two sound sources have different advantages and disadvantages, such as different instrument parts that can be heard well, and missing parts due to tape changes. In addition, the newly excavated tapes have quite different pitches, and we have put a lot of effort into this adjustment. Then, in order to make the best use of the excellent parts of each master, we carefully remastered them separately and adjusted them to the best balance. This increased the look of Dylan's vocals, the contours of each instrument, and the resolution of each drums kit, adding to the sensation of the hall's presence. In addition, the missing parts of each master were complemented, and for the first time, all songs were completely recorded without missing, and the highest quality ever was achieved. Congratulations. The Bob Dylan band, led by Tony Gagne, who has been supporting Dylan from the beginning of the Never Ending Tour to the present in 2019, has undergone numerous member changes, and the sounds and arrangements by the members of each era. Is different
One of the fun. The overall performance is tight and speedy during this period, with JJ Jackson's solid guitar and Bucky Baxter's pedal steel, which brings exquisite nuances to the song. Dylan also has a high tension and a unique song, and as the live progresses, the vocals become emotionally heated, and after each song, he likes "THANK YOU!" And is a member of the middle part of "Maggie's Farm". Even the introduction is cool.
And fortunately, from the same Japan tour, a bonus recording of songs that were not played in the main Osaka performance. These are also remastered, and as you can see from the set list, they are all important songs. The definitive edition that summarizes the 1994 Japan tour, with the strongest items.
