Jeff Beck came to Japan with the virtuoso Stanley Clarke in 1978, 40 years ago. A miracle live album that breaks the highest peak record has appeared, and it is decided to make it a permanent preservation press.
The engraving on this work is the performance of "November 26, 1978: Nagoya City Assembly Hall". It is the super-best audience recording. In 1973, when BB & A was unwell, and in 1975, when he was in poor physical condition, there were three performances each, but in 1978, which was the third time, he expanded at a stretch due to overheating popularity. First, let's check the position of the show from the schedule at that time.
・ November 20: Ibaraki Prefectural Cultural Center
・ November 22: Ishikawa Welfare Pension Hall
・ November 23: Kurashiki City Auditorium
・ November 24: Osaka Prefectural Gymnasium
・ November 26: Nagoya City Assembly Hall [this work]
・ November 28: Nippon Steel Otani Gymnasium
・ November 29: Osaka Kosei Nenkin Kaikan
・ November 30-December 2: Nippon Budokan (3 performances)
Above, all 10 performances. The Nagoya performance of this work was the 5th performance in the middle of it. This show has long been known for its famous recording "A BATTLE", and has been described by specialized magazines as "the best sound of the 1978 Japan Tour". This work is digitized from the master tape. It is a new top live album that renews the highest peak of many years.
Actually, the sound of this work is excellent. The most wonderful thing is the extremely natural sound. The conventional version had a transcendental sound just like the latest digital recording, but the finish was not good. The powerful equalizing that was popular at the time caused the clapping sound to pop out violently, while the beautiful and lustrous reverberation was drowned out. On the other hand, this work is a correct master sound. Of course, the pitch that was crazy by meticulous mastering is adjusted accurately, but the natural sound is the master as it is, the site itself.
