Oops, this is dangerous. Anyway, it's an audience album of unparalleled quality, but it's so special that it makes me want to describe it as a "sound board" rather than a "sound board". Until now, all of Dylan's latest tours released on UXBRIDGE's CD-R were really high-level audience recordings, but the University Park performance that was recorded four days ago (!) And just appeared on the net is that. It is wonderful to be able to assert that it is the highest peak.
First of all, the level of the surrounding audience is captured at a surprisingly low level, and just hearing the sound of the band just before the opening "Things Have Changed" starts makes you want to say "close". .. This is a tremendously on-sound image with perfect clearness. Matt Chamberlain's drumming realism, which has become a hot topic for the first time as a new member and a ready-to-use drummer.
Still, it is clear that the sound quality is good on this day after Dylan, and the engine is fully opened from the opening. The powerful performance of "Highway 61 Revisited" rages at once. There is no hindrance that Dylan is quietly supported by such a performance, and "Can't Wait" sings in a really lively tone. And when it comes to "Pay In Blood," which is the first high-point repertoire on the nightly stage, Dylan's intensity reaches its peak. Dylan's momentum now does not know to stay.
In the current tour, "Early Roman Kings" is evolving day by day with outstanding compatibility between Charlie Sexton and Bob Brit's blues guitar. On this day, the two of them played a little blues-interlude-like interaction before the performance started, but it was so cool that it was just thrilling. In addition, the guitar riffs in "Thunder On The Mountain" are also full of hard power.
Dylan, who had reached the peak of good performance in the previous "Pay In Blood", will listen to a wonderful song even in a relaxed repertoire on this day. Among them, "Not Dark Yet" captures his appearance singing with the heavy performance in the background with the best sound quality, and I am fascinated by it.
