Bowie's 50-year-old birthday concert was held at the large venue "Madison Square Garden" with a large number of guests. The superb stereo sound board album is here.
Such a special show was held on "January 9, 1997", about a month before the release of "EARTHLING". Bowie's birthday is January 8th, but MSG has already booked a basketball game that day. The concert was held the next day. This show is famous for its multi-camera pro shots on TV, but it is also fully broadcast on the German radio station "NDR2". This work is a live album that recorded the radio broadcast version with the highest quality in history.
The radio version has a significantly different song order from the TV version, but more important than that is the overwhelming sound. At our shop, under the supervision of overseas Bowie researchers, we have updated the highest peak in the history of many large classic sound board recordings. This work is also one of them, and it is a direct CD from the DAT master of FM broadcasting. In fact, the quality of this work is supreme. The TV version was also an official class with questions and answers, but this radio version is even more neat. When I listened carefully, the peak of the TV version of the sound was fluttering, and there was a feeling of clogging, especially when the drum hitting sound was limited, but the radio did not even have that. The midrange is also beautiful from the moment of attack to the sound of the moment that disappears, and the piano that boiled up and rolled from that is shining brilliantly one by one. And the deep bass that depicts the jungle beat, which was the key at that time, is also exquisite. Although the basera is fat, the flowing lines are clear, and the sound is extremely rich but there is no cloudiness at all. From deep bass to treble, from faint to peak, all pitches and volumes are clear, and the sequence is smooth, and the glossy feel envelops everything.
