The second 1975, when Jeff Beck's visit to Japan was unprecedented. The first day, "August 3, 1975 Sapporo Makomanai Indoor Stadium" was revived with the best sounding press CD.
The point of this work is its wonderful sound, but before that, let's look back on the situation at that time. This year's performance in Japan was planned in conjunction with the now legendary rock event "1st WORLD ROCK FESTIVAL EASTLAND". Jeff Beck, who had just released the big name "BLOW BY BLOW", was one of the highlights of the event, but Jeff, who is the key, became ill. It all started on July 26th, a week before coming to Japan. It was a stadium performance in New Orleans, but unfortunately it was raining. Jeff, who had a cold there, went to Hawaii while canceling the Atlanta performance and trying to recover. However, when he forced the performance in Hawaii on July 30 without recovering as he intended, his physical condition got worse. Originally, he came to Japan a few days ago and was ready to go, but he was treated to the last minute in Hawaii to get back in shape. The other members had already arrived in Sapporo, but Jeff arrived at Haneda Airport after 15:00 on the day of his first performance in Sapporo (!). And Jeff rushing from Haneda to Sapporo.
How was it at one of the venues? It's been canceled in the modern sense, but now I've been waiting for Jeff's arrival late. Not to mention Jeff's turn, the performances of all the bands are finally over, and a long and long break. There was an announcement in the hall saying, "Jeff, who was late for the flight, has arrived at Chitose Airport and is heading for Sapporo." Finally, Jeff rushed to tune in for about 10 minutes and stood on the stage 70 minutes after the end of all the bands. The venue where this work began to talk was such a moment.
This work begins with the voice of the famous event organizer, "There were various things, but Jeff Beck has finally arrived!" The sound is really amazing. The recording of this day only exists in the legendary analog "JEFF BECK LIVE IN JAPAN (POTK-001)", but this work is a direct CD from the original LP. From this LP, there were already-released CDs such as "WORLD ROCK 1975", but the jarring noise that was not in the original LP covered the whole volume, and there were some breaks in the sound. On the other hand, this work uses the finest board that domestic core collectors have treasured as if they were new. Furthermore, mastering was performed to carefully treat each scratch noise, and the song order that had been changed due to the restrictions of each side of the LP was also corrected (Superstition and Air Blower). Of course, the natural sound originally enclosed in the original LP has not been excessively equalized. We have created a piece that reproduces the entire concert on the day as faithfully as possible. In fact, the sound is wonderfully clear while being full of the warmth peculiar to analog. The groove played by the rhythm section solidified by black members is vivid, and Jeff's selfish guitar dancing on it is also extremely vivid. The discreet yet beautiful Max Middleton keyboard sound is also great.
